Cougar Vineyard & Winery provides good service, nice wines and gorgeous views. Cougar's onsite deli also makes it a cost effective lunchtime stop.

The Place:  Cougar Winery benefits from the natural beauty that exists along the De Portola Wine Trail. Sitting at the top of a ridge, the winery provides visitors spectacular views of the vineyards below. The tasting room was recently built with Spanish and Italian influences, and while the tasting room was architecturally tasteful, it felt unfinished due to the sparse décor. One of my favorite aspects of Cougar Winery was Sangio’s Deli. After ... Read full review

Slightly off the beaten path of the DePortola Wine Trail, you will find Frangipani Winery's modest tasting room, beautiful vineyards and excellent wines; all of which will make you want to come back for more.

The Place:  A dirt driveway bordered by a white wood fence and symmetrical Italian cypress trees winds its way up to the tasting room through the vineyard. The tasting room will not be winning any architectural awards anytime soon, but it is cozy and comfortable. Ponte Winery offers numerous amenities, a great restaurant and a hotel. Grab a glass of wine and enjoy a stroll through their gorgeous grounds.

The Place:  At first glance Ponte Winery seems to have an architectural identity crisis with its barn-styled tasting room and its Spanish-influenced barrel room and restaurant. While it lacks an architectural cohesion, it’s all tastefully done and inviting. The outdoor restaurant in the back of the tasting room is a great place to enjoy the almost always gorgeous Southern Californian weather. It was a bit warm on the day of my visit, but ... Sitting high on a hill overlooking a valley of vines, Oak Mountain Winery provides one of the best views in Temecula wine country and produces some nice wine. Unfortunately, the customer service, at least during our visit, didn't match the view.

Away from any of the wine trails, Palumbo Family Vineyards and Winery is a small, family-owned winery producing a limited number of highly-regarded varietals.

The Place:  Palumbo Winery sits alone on Monto De Oro Rd. Nick Palumbo, grape farmer turned winemaker, spent many years as one of the most sought after viticulturists in Temecula. Nick recently decided to try his hand at winemaking and kept a small portion of his grapes for himself. Shortly after that, he was keeping all of his harvest for himself. South Coast Winery   0
4.0

South Coast Winery is the complete package: restaurant, resort, spa, and winery. Add a dose of amazing customer service, and it's no surprise that South Coast Winery has developed an impressively loyal customer base.

The Place:  Once parked, your first steps on the grounds are breathtaking as you follow the wisteria-covered pathway to the winery, all the while enjoying the perfumed air created by meticulous landscaping. The Spanish architecture, to include a tower, is consistent throughout the compound. Once inside the tasting room, the décor turns more rustic, and the awards South Coast has won are displayed ... Thornton Winery   0
3.5

With a gourmet restaurant, an extensive Jazz concert lineup, and sit-down wine tastings, Thornton Winery adds a touch of class and refinement to wine tasting in Temecula Wine Country.

The Place:  As a well-established winery in the Temecula Wine Country, Thornton Winery presents itself with sophistication and class. In addition to the vines, the landscape is impeccably manicured. Green landscaping with boulders, water features, and stone masonry buildings provide a traditional feel to the winery. A water fountain adds to the stately ambience of the courtyard, and ample shaded patio areas are available for enjoying Thornton's ... Read full review

Palumbo Family Vineyard & Winery   0
4.0

Away from any of the wine trails, Palumbo Family Vineyards and Winery is a small, family-owned winery producing a limited number of highly-regarded varietals.

The Place:  Palumbo Winery sits alone on Monto De Oro Rd. Nick Palumbo, grape farmer turned winemaker, spent many years as one of the most sought after viticulturists in Temecula. Nick recently decided to try his hand at winemaking and kept a small portion of his grapes for himself. Shortly after that, he was keeping all of his harvest for himself. A small, but warm and cozy, tasting room sits next to ... Read full review

Oak Mountain - Temecula Hills   0
3.5

Sitting high on a hill overlooking a valley of vines, Oak Mountain Winery provides one of the best views in Temecula wine country and produces some nice wine. Unfortunately, the customer service, at least during our visit, didn't match the view.

The Place:  Oak Mountain Winery provides splendid views of the De Portola Wine Trail area. The covered cement veranda is perched above the vineyards, providing a wonderful place to enjoy a glass of wine. The event pavilion sits next to the veranda; its glass doors make the most of the scenery and provide an ... Read full review

Ponte Winery   0
3.5

Frangipani Winery and Vineyard   0
4.5

Slightly off the beaten path of the DePortola Wine Trail, you will find Frangipani Winery's modest tasting room, beautiful vineyards and excellent wines; all of which will make you want to come back for more.

The Place:  A dirt driveway bordered by a white wood fence and symmetrical Italian cypress trees winds its way up to the tasting room through the vineyard. The tasting room will not be winning any architectural awards anytime soon, but it is cozy and comfortable. You pass through two stone pillars to enter the outside patio where you will find tables ... Read full review

Cougar Vineyard & Winery   0
3.5
