The Confession of a Former Finger Lakes Doubter

Yes… I confess. As much as I love Riesling, it was always German Riesling I used to reach for. Or almost always — one cannot deny the sheer power of Austrian wines, or the lithe, stony structure of Rieslings from the Alsace. But New York State ? The Finger Lakes? I seriously doubted the quality of Riesling that can be made in such a climate.
