Finger Lakes wine grape harvest 2016: 'It's going to be a good year for dry reds'

Grapes are ripening faster on the vines because of the persistent drought that covered much of the state this summer, and the continued warm and dry weather that has pushed into early fall. A more typical harvest season might start in mid- to late September and last well into October.
