The return of California Cabernet

In recent years, I and many other Cabernet traditionalists had abandoned hope. Little of what goes by the name Cabernet Sauvignon has been identifiable as the thing itself. We've struggled to taste Cabernet-ness - firm tannins, fresh fruit, a clear savory side - in bottle after bottle of undifferentiated ego juice.
