Winery Map of the Day – Santa Barbara Pinot Specialists

Santa Barbara, similar to Sonoma, is geographically, climatically and viticulturally diverse. As a result, many varieties, including both cool- and warm-climate varieties excel in the county's various viticultural regions. Some bucolic, vineyard tasting rooms exist, but a county ordnance restricting the number of tasting rooms on agricultural land has led most Santa Barbara wineries to open tasting rooms in one of the local towns.

As a result, there are only a few other places in the U.S. where you can taste so many highly rated Pinot Noirs in a such a small geographic area. These Santa Barbara County wineries and tasting rooms, concentrated primarily in Lompoc and Solvang/Los Olivos, are must visit locations for tasting Santa Barbara's highest rated Pinot Noir! Wineries include Alta Maria Vineyards, Arcadian, Au Bon Climat, Brewer-Clifton, Loring and 20 others.
