Winery Map of the Day – Stellar Santa Barbara Syrah

Santa Barbara, similar to Sonoma, is geographically, climatically and viticulturally diverse. As a result, many cool- and warm-climate varieties excel in the county's various viticultural regions. Some bucolic, vineyard tasting rooms exist, but a county ordnance restricting the number of tasting rooms on agricultural land has led most Santa Barbara wineries to open tasting rooms in one of the local towns.

Santa Barbara's cooler areas produce savory, old-world style Syrah with plenty of olive, black pepper, and meaty flavors, while the warmer regions typically result in Syrah dominated by dark blue and black fruits. These 15 Santa Barbara wineries and tasting rooms, concentrated primarily in Los Olivos, are must-visit locations for tasting Santa Barbara's highest rated Syrah! Wineries include Jaffurs, Tensley, Andrew Murray, Beckman, Foxen and 10 others. For information about tasting experiences in Santa Barbara, check out our Santa Barbara tasting room reviews!
