The Santa Maria Valley is a cool climate AVA within Santa Barbara County. The northwest to southeast orientated valley located between the San Rafael Mountains and the Los Padres National Forest to the East and the Solomon Hills and city of Santa Maria to the west, is planted at elevations from 200 to 800 feet.

The Santa Maria Valley has approximately ten wineries open for tasting, and you’ll find some of the countries best Syrah, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Non-resident wineries that have produced award-winning Santa Maria Valley wines include Ambullneo Vineyards, Belle Glos and Ojai.
