The Southeastern New England AVA, established in 1984, includes portions of thirteen counties within the states of Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island. The AVA is heavily influenced by the nearby Atlantic Ocean which moderates the temperature and makes the region suitable for various cold-climate varieties.
